At the far end of the room, an ensemble lead by a Bard with a lute is accompanying a
beautifully dressed soprano. You have heard of her. It is Duchess Sieglinde Syr. The
song is about a Landsknecht and his Love. And that must be Master Avatar of Catsprey
and the ensemble Istanpitta accompaning her. If you wait until the set is over, you could
probably go up to them and chat about music and dance.

The hall is filled with 20-30 couples dancing Heart's Ease. There are plenty of
unaccompanied guests if you wish to join the dance. I am sure the Master of Dance,
Phillip White, would be more than happy to help you with the dance steps.

Amongst the couples dancing, you see Don Christoforo and his wife HL Mea. Oh, look
there. It's Gräfin Rebekah. And over there in a Circle there are a group of Laurels who
have gathered. If you listen in, you hear them taking about Arts & Sciences.

Here comes Dame Clara von Ulm, wife to Hauptmann Tristan von Heidelberg. She is
being escorted by Lord Gunthar Waldmann, the Provost of Die Schwarze Gesellschaft.
You catch him saying that her presence was requested by her husband in the Office.

There is a HUGE group of rapier fighters clustered around a set of paintings along the
east side of the Ballroom. All seem to be laughing and pointing at various pictures as if
to say they felt one or the other picture was their favorite. The artist, Mistress Isobel
Grace Hadleigh, is waving you over to come take a look at the paintings.

You notice that one of the windows on the left is in fact a door. Through it you see a set
of stairs leading down to a Garden Terrace below.

When you are ready to leave, the valet will open the door leading back to the Grand
Staircase
and Bedrooms.
The Ballroom takes your breath away. The walls are mirrored. Hundreds of candles
light the room, reflecting in the mirrors like tiny stars. The floor is polished to a mirror
shine. You try to picture what it would look like if it were empty.
